Your donation is a gift to those less fortunate.
When you gift to us, we use your gift to buy in stock fruit trees and bushes. We are building a network of suppliers across the UK.
We also use your gift to purchase the essentials we need to grow. Such as rooting gels and powders, good composts to give our tree’s and plants a good start and also buckets and pots.
We also use part of your gift for fuel and transport to get us where we need to be.
Our time we supply for free because at present we are fully employed.
What can I gift?
At Leaf a Legacy we are doing as much as we can for free. Our spare time is taken up getting our “Growing Revolution” going.
We don’t just ask you to gift money, we ask for volunteers. These range from people who can start growing plants we need in their gardens. To spotters who can venture around and spot existing Fruit Trees and Shrubs for us to catalogue.
We have had donations of garden essentials too, this ranges from bags of compost, to pots and buckets and even.

One of our local neighbours sells eggs and donates his waste “Chicken Poo”. You’d think we wouldn’t accept such a donation, but it’s totally natural, one of the best natural fertilisers and we LOVE IT!
Because it’s what we need for strong healthy plants.
How do I know where the Fruit is?
Leaf a Legacy is still in our fledgling stages. When we plant out our new Tree’s and shrubs we don’t immediately give the location of the planting.
Believe it or not, people will actually steal newly planted Trees and Shrubs. We like to think we live in an honest world. But unfortunately there are individiuals who do this.
Some actually just vandalise the plants. Sad but true and very spiteful.
To combat this when we plant any tree or shrub we withhold it’s location for a good period. This allows the roots of the Trees and shrubs to establish and get strong. This makes them harder to steal.
Also, and this is one of our favourites, to many a gardeners annoyance. Our Raspberry and Blackberry bushes can fend for themselves. Once established, they are hard to stop and will spite you by popping back up in another area.

How do we find a Fruit Plant or Tree?
We have decided to use the Navigation App “What Three Words” which gives those who need to fruit a precise 3 meter by 3 meter location.
You can download the app from Apple and Googles stores and simply enter the three words.
We will be creating directory of where the Tree’s and Shrubs are. What three words will direct you to virtually the exact location.

How Can I help?
If you feel you cannot make a donation, you can help by just sparing a bit of your time.
We need members of the public to spot for us.
While you are out and about, we’d like people to spot where a Fruit Tree or Fruit Bush is and report what it is to us.
If possible using the what three words app and giving us the what three words location.

Can our Business help?
Yes, we wouldn’t expect a business to donate. But employees might consider taking up a collection for us. It’s not all about donations though.
How about a location in your business grounds? A lawned area that you could plant a fruit tree. We see hundreds of businesses with spare ground, often just as wasted green space.
As long as it’s not in a secured area, it would be ideal to just plant a bush or tree there. Looks a lot better than just a lawn.
When the tree or shrub establishes and fruits
- Why not tell families they can come and get free fruit?
- Or a school could arrange to collect some.
- You could pick the fruit and take it to a food bank
- You can even promote healthy eating with your own employees
Showing that your company cares about it’s community is an absolute positive and is the best forms of advertising you could imagine.
You could even have a member of staff as a fruit champion.
